“Truth is within ourselves, it takes no rise
From outward things, whatever you may believe
There is an inner center in us all
Where truth abides in fullness
And around wall upon wall the flesh hems it in
That perfect clear perception which is truth.”
- Robert Browning
I was sitting in a hotel conference room, uncomfortably wearing a $500 navy blue suit – the uniform of a professional fund raising executive. The room was full of people dressed in similar attire, the air was stagnant and the lighting was dim.
While listening to the speaker review the finer points of how to market a cause effectively, the ongoing tension in my solar plexus cried out in agony. As my awareness moved to what was going on inside my body, feelings of stress and anxiety rose up within me. "What on earth am I doing here?" I thought to myself, "Why do I feel so tense and disconnected?"
At that moment, 12 years ago, I knew that something big was shifting for me. Although I had helped raise over $30 million dollars for the charitable institutions for which I'd worked, I felt empty, unfulfilled and inadequate.
I was stuck in a pattern of driving myself to do and achieve more… never quite believing that I "measured up", in spite of my accomplishments. I knew I had not been living in alignment with who I really am and what I'm really here to be and do. And, added to that, I knew I had been denying and suppressing my intuitive, empathic nature for years.
I remember as a child being able to sense what was going on with people and situations in spite of outward appearances. One of my distinct, earlier memories is of some of my classmates in Grade One making fun of another classmate at recess time. This little boy laughed it off and, with a big smile, came over to play with me and my friends, but I could tell he was still hurting inside. So, I put my arm around him, and he burst into tears.
As an adult, I realized that I have invisible, sensory antennae that pick up the emotions and energies of those around me. While being acutely sensitive can be overwhelming at times, I've come to appreciate that it's truly a gift. And since experiencing that pivotal moment 12 years ago in the hotel conference room, I've learned how to use my sensitivity more consciously to support myself and others.
What I wanted so desperately all those years ago was to believe in and value myself and live from a consciousness of unity and connection to the Divine Source. I wanted to live an authentic life and, in particular, to be on purpose with my work – to have a livelihood that makes my heart sing and my spirit come alive.
I was always drawn to work that brings light and wellness into people's lives and the world, but I had not yet created the most authentic expression of that for myself. Then, I did just that! As I learned to love myself and trust and follow my intuitive guidance, I created (and continue to create) the highest expression of my work.
As a Business Coach and Prosperity Guide, I've combined the practical experience and skills I have in marketing, sales, communications and management with my coaching, intuitive and spiritual healing abilities. And I'm passionate about using my gifts to help you fulfill your authentic purpose as a healer and create a prosperous and fulfilling healing business.
